I recently purchased a large Pilates head pad for £6.08, along with a separate cover that cost £5.41. The total came to £17.44, shipping included. Not exactly a fortune, but still my hard-earned cash.

When it arrived, the cover was in a sealed plastic bag, but the head pad, which is made of foam, was just tossed in the envelope without any wrapping.

Honestly, the pad looked like the most unsanitary item I’ve ever gotten from a supplier. It was dirty and discolored, sporting a mysterious black mark. I can only guess it was stored in a filthy place before it got to me, either fading or getting something spilled on it. I even sent some pictures of the pad to Marcus at the provided email.

I won’t bore you with how long it took to hear back from him, but he expressed his regret that I was ‘unsatisfied’ and told me to send it back for either a replacement or a full refund after the returns team checked it out.

According to Marcus, the discoloration is just a result of the manufacturing process and doesn’t impact the pad’s quality. I’ll be on the lookout for such nonsense from any sellers of clothing or soft goods in the future.

I’ve decided not to return the item. Instead, I’ll wash the pad at 60C and see if I want to keep it. If not, I’ll just toss it in the bin and hang onto that useless cover while I hunt for some similar foam locally. It’ll save me the hassle of returning a £6 item and waiting for the ‘returns team’ to figure things out.

So, for those shopping at Balance Leisure, if you order something similar made of soft materials or foam, be prepared to give it a wash upon arrival before you feel okay using it.

It took a long time to get here since the posture support shipped from China. The support itself is good and does the job nicely.

The two covers I got were alright and fit nicely. The shipping and handling fee felt a bit high for such a small order, which is why I gave it 4 stars. I might think about getting more items next time to make the shipping cost more worthwhile. The prices on the site were quite fair.
